Meghalaya police nabbed two senior United National Liberation Front (UNLF) cadres and busted its finance wing hideout in Shillong yesterday, according to Meghalaya police officials, reports NNN.
The police said that the two cadres, Manoj Singh and Prasanjit Singh, were nabbed near the Meghalaya Urban Development Authority shopping complex in Shillong.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police AR Mawthoh said, two other cadres of the banned militant outfit managed to escape.
'The police are on the look out to nab the escapees,' Mawthoh added.
Police during the raid at the outfit's finance wing hide-out here at Cleave Colony, confiscated 'three bagfull' of incriminating documents.
No arms or ammunition were recovered.
According to the police, the UNLF was operating for the past three to four years in the Meghalaya capital.
