A meeting of the members of the All Manipur Government Drivers' and Technicians Association (AMGDTA) who had joined the cease-work strike of the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO held today resolved to intensify their ongoing agitation from April 7 next.
Secretary of AMGDTA, S Ibopishak speaking to reporters at a press conference held at DIPR campus said that they have decided to intensify the agitation as government failed to hear their repeated plea to bring an amicable solution to the ongoing cease-work strike of the government employees.
They have already started steering down strike in support of the JAC strike assuming that it was necessary to join the strike for the protection rights of the employees, he said.
If the government is not efforted to bring an amicable solution with the striking employees, AMGDTA is getting ready to launch intensify forms of agitation from the next day.
The association has 860 members who work as drivers in government departments.
However, drivers of the secretariat service were not included in the steering down strike.
