Saying that AMSU Jiribam has been insisting on appointment of a local qualified man as Principal of Jiri College since 1999, the student body has rejected the DPC for appointment of Principal held on Nov 18.A statement issued by the student body contended that the intimation for the DPC was made only in the evening of the previous day, that too informally.
As such it was almost im impossible for candidates of Jiribam to attend the DPC.
Asserting that AMSU would not accept any non-local as Principal of Jiri College, it said that vice-chairman of the Governing Body (of the College) who attended the DPC and the chairman of the Governing Body, Minister Th Debendra can not shy away from their responsibilities concerning the issue.
While reiterating its demand for appointment of local qualified candidate as Principal of the Jiri College, it cautioned that the Government Body and the State Government would be held accountable if their demand is not entertained.
