Result of the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship Scheme (RGNFS) for SC and ST candidates for 2006-2007 has been declared and five (5) Hmar students doing their Ph.D and M.Phil at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has been selected for the scheme.
The five students are James R Ruolngul, David Ramnei Lungtau, Thlirnawnmawi Puruolte, Robert S Khawbung and Dorothy L Khawbung.
The Fellowship is sponsored by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
The objective of this scheme is to provide fellowships in the form of financial assistance to students belonging to SC/ST to pursue higher studies leading to M.Phil and Ph.D The criteria for candidates of this scheme is they should have a post graduate degree in the concerned subject and should preferably be registered for M.Phil or Ph.D in any University/ Institution in India.
Candidates selected for the fellowship scheme will receive financial assistance that will meet the requirements for tuition fees, living expenses, books, etc.
