Imphal, October 30 2009:
Union Home Minister P Chidam-baram has announced that former chief of the Intelligence Bureau, PC Halder, has been appointed as the pointman to contact and talk with militant groups active and operating in the North East region.
The Home Minister announced this during a press conference held at Delhi today.
In Assam the People's Consultative Group has been formed to talk to the ULFA leadership.
