Reacting to news report that alleged involvement of KNA activists in the thrashing of village chief and secretary of Thangal Surung Naga village, the KNA has claimed that the said act was committed by a deserter of the outfit.
According to Lt CL Kuki, commander of KNA's Wing No VI the culprit is one Pvt Thangpao Touthang of Y Langkhang village, who was serving under his (CL Kuki's) command but had deserted from a KNA camp on October 27 this year.
whatever action Thangpao had done at thangal Surung Naga village it was done solely for his personal interest and has no connection, whatsoever, with the KNA organisation, the commander said while asserting that after a thorough investigation appropriate action would be initiated against the culprit.
CL Kuki also expressed remorse over the suffering of the victims.
