Security forces have reportedly arrested three underground activists from different parts of the State during the last 48 hours.
According to a statement issued by SP of Thoubal district Clay Khongsai, the police commandos of the district apprehended an activist of the proscribed PREPAK during frisking and checking of suspected persons in the general area of Wangbal at around 9.45 pm yesterday.
Identifying the arrested PREPAK activist as one Wangkhem Saratchandra Singh alias Chandra (28) s/o W Nipamacha Singh of Wangbal Part-II, the SP informed that on questioning the arrested individual disclosed that he is an active member of PREPAK working in the finance section of the
outfit.
PRO Assam Rifles conveyed report of the arrest of one PULF cadre by the troops of 34 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) during mobile check post
established based on specific information in general area of Singga yesterday.
Identifying the arrested PULF cadre as Md Sanayai (21) s/o Md Leiharudiri of Singga Siphai Leikai, the PRO informed that the arrested cadre has been handed over to Yairipok Police Station today.
A team of Imphal East Police Commandos also reportedly arrested one cadre of the proscribed KYKL from Lamlong Bazar at around 1 pm of December 27 .
According to a delayed statement issued by SP of Imphal East district, on verification, the arrested cadre identified as Wahengbam Ronal alias Malem (25) s/o W Kullachandra of Haobam Marak Ngangom Leikai disclosed that he joined the proscribed outfit in December 2006 through one Priyo of KYKL and underwent military training in Myanmar under army no.527 .
Furthermore, Ronal disclosed that is he working in Imphal East area and involved in extortion of money from Government employees and shop-keepers, the SP conveyed.
