THE KUKI Revolutionary Army (KRA) today celebrated its 10th raising day with a solemn function held at its general headquarters in Sadar Hills.
A Kuki Pastor inaugurated the function with religous hymns around 1 pm and General Secretary of KRA, Johson Hanshing hoisted the party flag.
Several advisors of KRA, special invitees, General Secretary and Battalion Commanders spoke in connection with the occasion.
Various cultural programmes were performed by Kuki villagers.
The cadres of KRA offered revolutionary salute to its late founder General Secretary K Hanshing and other departed cadres.
A large number of Kuki men, women and children gathered at the ground where the function was held and were offered a grand lunch.
Secretary, Information and Publicity of KRA, Th Misao told reporters that KRA was founded on December 29 of 1999 with the objective of fighting for restoration the lost freedom of Chin-Kuki tribes.
The Kukis lived in freedom in their ancestral areas before the British came to India.
When the British invaded the Kuki areas, the Kuki rebellion took place.
The Kukigam (Kuki land) of the Chin-Kuki tribes extended from Sagaing in Myanmar to Chittagong Hill Tracts in Bangladesh, he claimed.
He further said that the KRA want to work together with love and peace not only with the Kuki UG groups but also with all underground organisations of North Eastern region of India.
The KRA does not want to fight among the Kuki groups and it will stay away from fighting among themselves, he said.
He announced that the KRA would open a designated camp jointly with KLO/KLA at Saikul.
He also conveyed New Year greetings to all the people of Manipur wishing that all communities would co-exist in love and peace without any enmity and bloodshed.
