Personnel at the counter of the Seven Sister Travel agency in Guwahati have allegedly cheated several passengers by dropping them in the midway even though they collected fares for upto Imphal.
A group of 17 sportspersons of state returning from West Bengal after taking part in a championship who reached Guwahati for their onward journey to Imphal booked tickets at rate of Rs 600 to 700 from the Seven Sister Travel Agency.
A bus of the travel agency bearing registration no.MN01-1635 left Guwahati with the passenger yesterday evening at about 5 pm for Imphal.
On reaching the bus was stranded at Dimapur as it did not possessed inter-state bus service permit.
But passengers with the intention of reaching Imphal paid Rs 2000 to the driver who said he had no money to pay for.
However, on reaching Mao gate, the bus driver refused to proceed further stating he will not proceed further.
There erupted a heated argument over the refusal of the driver and insisted to refund the fare from Mao to Imphal.
But the driver refused to do so, sportspersons complaint to this newspaper office today.
Some of the passenger having money had left Mao at their own effort by catching other vehicles.
Likewise, the sportsperson reached Imphal in two tata sumo hired by the bringing out money in their pockets.
However, the 17 sportspersons have decided to take the help of law to deliver justice to them with regard to the cheating done by the Seven Sister Travel agency.
