Calls for promoting and inculcating sense of work culture among the younger generation marked the third foundation anniversary celebration of kanglei Economic Development Organisation (KEDO) held today at the Canchipur campus of Standard Robarth Hr Sec School today.
The celebration was held with Imphal Municipal Council Chairperson Meinam Ranisana and Standard Robarth Principal Ph Landhoni as the chief guest and president respectively.
General secretary of Nupi Keithel Semgat Shagat Lup Paonam Ibenu Devi and proprietor of Apunba Fitness Centre Yumnam Hamlet Singh were the guests of honour of the occasion.
In her address, Ranisana stressed on the need for building a well established and propitious society with the youths playing an important role in moulding the society.
Suggesting that the young working class adopt whatever job they could lay their hands on rather that be choosy, she strongly advocated that attitude and concept of onlookers need not be accorded much importance for qualities of willingness and commitment to work are essential factors for progress of a society.
Further stating that there is need for extra effort both collectively and on individual level in order to excel in their respective field, the chief guest described patience as another crucial component for the working class.
Appreciating contribution of KEDO volunteers/members in the socio-economic development of Manipuri society, Ranisana called upon all to contribute their mite in sustaining progress of the State.
She also urged KEDO functionaries to expand their activities beyond the limits of Imphal.
As part of the anniversary celebration, Ph Landhoni inaugurated a hair-cutting shop (salon) for men within the School premises.
