Imphal, May 14 2010:
The Chakka bandh imposed by the Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur on the Imphal-Jiribam section of the NH-53 has been called off, a statement of the union signed by its state secretary Chunthuigai Kamei informed.
The chakka bandh was called in protest against the unfortunate incident at Mao gate on May 6 which claim two students and injured to several others in the action of the security forces and on humanitarian ground, the statement said.
The ZSUM shared sorrows and shocks of bereaved families where the economic blockade imposed by ANSAM against the third amendment Act, 2008 of ADC is continuing, the statement added.
