To investigate failure to deliver PDS items to people fully, the Congress Legislature Party has decided to constitute a committee.
A senior member of the CLP said Consumer Affairs and Food and Public Distribution Minister Y Erabot would be the chairman of the committee.
Other members of the committee are MLAs L Nandakumar, Dr L Loken, Dr Kh Ratankumar and Bijoy Koijam.
The committee after probing into flaws and lapses in PDS mechanism responsible for the inability to deliver goods to the beneficiaries would submit a report along with suggestions to plug loopholes and lapses.

The CLP meeting held today deliberated on the report that PDS items meant for the people were diverted to UG groups.
There were reports that even as FCS transporters are nominated by DCs and ADCs, most of the transporters have links with UGs, the meeting noted.
The meeting also looked at the complaint filed at the Supreme Court by one Prafulo who alleged that card holders of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa A/C have not been receiving PDS rice following authorisation of MLAs to select agents of their own choice.
Chief Minister O Ibobi also tabled a report on suspension of some jail staff in connection with the killing of contractor Yengkhom Krishnadas of Kakching and measures taken up by the Government against undertrial criminals indulging in killing people while staying inside jail.
The meeting also deliberated on deduction of certain percentage by UG groups from the old age pension being given by Social Welfare Department.
Disturbances encountered at work sites including torching of excavators against development programmes taken up by Works Department also figured in the agenda of the meeting.
All the agenda discussed today would be deliberated again in another CLP meeting, conveyed the senior CLP member.
