Imphal, July 11 2009:
One non-local labourer was shot and injured by unidentified gun men at Sagolband Bijoy Govinda this afternoon.
Uttam Kalita (29) from Assam was shot by unidentified gun men near a play ground on the entrance to Shri Shri Govindajee temple at about 1.50 pm.
He was working at a steel (almirah) workshop, said a police source.
He was hit by bullets on the left side of face and right buttock.
A team of Imphal West commandos admitted Uttam Kalita to RIMS.
Uttam left his rented quarter at about 9 am.
Uttam worked at a steel almirah workshop located at Khurai, said his landlord Laimayum Barun of Sagolband Mabudhou Mantri Maning Leikai.
