Continuing the series of Military Civic Action Program under the aegis of Red Shield Division, 11 Assam Rifles battalion on Sunday distributed 15 each of Wooden Benches and Desks, one Wooden Almirah, four Wooden Tables, four Wooden Chairs, one Carrom Board and two football and Volleyball each to Primary School, Awangkhul, the adjutant informed the reporter this afternoon.
According to the information available here the school has 100 students from class Nursery to 5th standard adding that students were facing a great difficulty due to poor infrastructure.
The furniture will be a great help to students of Primary School, Awangkhul and facilitate a better standard of class rooms, the source said.
On the other hand Pensioners Association Tamenglong held a meeting on Saturday at Zeliangrong House Tamenglong and inducted G Dirong as General Secretary, K Azaeng as vice president of its association.
The meeting resolved to affiliate to All Manipur State Pensioner's Welfare Union.
The meeting also resolved to appeal to the state government to stop taking pensioners' photo twice a year, which made them face extraordinary.
Instead of coming to the treasury office for taking photos the association meeting appealed to the official to come to the pensioners home, the source said.
