The two-day seminar on "Entrepreneurs of Information and Communication Technology in Education in NE Region" concluded today with a recommendation to make Information and Communication Technology (ICT) a part of the state education policy among others.
The seminar was organised jointly by the Manipur Library Association (MALA), INOU-OIP Community College and Institute of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, Imphal Centre under the sponsorship of the Union Ministry of DoNER and Ministry of Communication.
It was held at Nupilal Memorial Complex.
The two-day seminar drafted a five-point recommendation including inclusion of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the state education policy, pressurizing authority concerned of the region to develop infrastructures for ICT, upgrading of libraries, archives, museums with ICT facilities and provision of facilities of e-learning, on-line learning by the BSNL and NIC service providers.
Other recommendations include pressing the authority concerned of the Central and State government for sponsoring seminars, workshops, conference, etc.

During the two day seminar, 10 resource persons presented their papers on ICT and its related topics.
Director of MAHUD, N Geetkumar graced the concluding function of the seminar presided over by Librarian of the Manipur University Dr Th Khomdon.
