Strong suspicions have been raised over the reported suicide of Lourembam Tunan alias Rajesh (30) of Bishnupur Ward No 2 in the afternoon of August 2 .
Dozer operator Tunan alias Rajesh was found hung to death inside the garage of dozer owner and contractor Paka at his Khongman Zone II residence.
However, the JAC constituted in connection with the death of Rajesh has been contending that it was not a case of suicide.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here this afternoon, JAC president N Tomba raised strong suspicion that Rajesh was killed by some persons.
In view of the suspicious nature of the death of Rajesh, Executive District Magistrate, Imphal East has issued an order asking for video coverage while conducting post mortem.
But the post mortem was conducted without video coverage after a second order issued by another Magistrate was produced.
At casual glance, the body did not bear any sign of being hung by a rope.
But when it was brought to RIMS for post mortem, a mark caused by strangulation with a rope was observed on the neck.
But many other marks/wounds made by a pointed object were also observed on the abdomen, chest, arm and leg.
There is strong possibility that Rajesh was killed by two/three persons, said the JAC president while claiming that some evidences which have deepened the suspicion evidences which deepen the suspicion have also been found.
He said that there is no question of the JAC withdrawing its demands.
Rajesh's uncle Lourembam Yaima questioned as to why the family was informed on time if the dead of Rajesh was a case of suicide.
According to general norms, the body should be taken down only in the presence of family members.
He questioned as to why the body was taken down before arrival of family members.
Tunan's wife appealed to the authority concerned to pull up and question mechanic Bishojit, Hijam Paka's younger brother Tensing and Bijesh from Kumbi.
She said that all the three individuals stayed together with her husband at Paka's garage.
She asked as to why the three individuals have been absconding.
Meanwhile, a press release issued by the OC of Irilbung police station has notified that the corpse of Lourembam Rajesh alias Tunan s/o L Joykumar of Bishnupur Ward No 11 would be disposed off if the same is not claimed by 2 pm of August 9 according to law with due permission of the concerned District Magistrate.
