Imphal, March 01 2009:
Taking a serious view of the alleged flip flop statement issued by Phijam Pakchao of Awang Wabagai and the hired JAC, the KCP (MC) today said that such utterances will only invite trouble.
In a statement, information and public relation officer of the outfit, Puranthaba today said that at first Pakchao and the JAC maintained that the KCP (MC) had not served any demand notice on him.
However in a statement given to a newspaper, Pakchao and the JAC had alleged that the outfit had served a demand note on him.
Explaining its stand, the outfit maintained that in January this year, the leader of the KCP (MC) Lamyanba Khuman had announced that it would stop serving home demands from February this year.
However KCP (MC) had served a demand note of Rs 5 lakh dated December 8, 2008 on Pakchao, said the statement and added that the reference number was 439/08. In connection with the case, the nephew and younger brother of Pakchao was taken into custody for questioning, said the statement and added that the two managed to escape later.
The two admitted that though they were not harmed, they escaped as they were scared.
The outfit will forgive as much as it is warranted but in case this does not work it hand over the case to the team of Operation Sangai.
Pakchao used his mobile (9862031834) posing as member of another party, then as a police commando, alleged the outfit and added that the hired JAC should get in touch with them and try to sort out the issue.
All decisions pertaining to any case of the outfit will be decided by the Supreme Committee, said the statement and urged others not to intervene.
Reacting to the news report in the February 26 issue of The Sangai Express the outfit clarified that Taibangnganba has nothing to do Ibungo Ngangom.
The statement that a letter head of the KCP (MC) jointly signed by R/O Finance Taibangnganba and commander Ibungo Ngangom was seized from Thokchom Naobi of Bashikhong and Pukhrambam Premkumar of Langthabal Mayai Leikai was a handiwork to tarnish the image of Taibangnganba.
Taibangnganba is currently in jail, said KCP (MC) and added that Korouhanba S/S captain is presently functioning as R/O Finance.
Asserting that KCP (MC) is for the welfare of the people, the statement asked anyone with grievances to contact them on e-mail [email protected].
