Around 100 members of Imphal Bazar Board today carried out the relay hunger strike launching by the Sharmila Kunba Lup showing solidarity to the caused of the Sharmila which has entered 82 days today.Speaking as resource person in the relay hunger strike continuing at the Porompat PDA Complex editor, Hueiyen Lanpao Manipuri edition, Ratan Luwangcha said that as a result of the more than eight year fasting demanding stir of Sharmila demanding repeal of AFSPA has made known Manipur to the world.
He also said that in Bangladesh Manipur was not known but it was known when Sharmila�s name mentions, he added.The Centre as well as state government is well known to the stir of Sharmila but never try initiating any action to consider her demand which have been for the people of the state.
But under pressure from some ministers� of the SPF government, now it has been repealed from Imphal Municipality area.
Sharmila�s demand for repeal of the Act is not from some part of the state or from the state of Manipur but not to eliminate this draconian Act from the world, he said.
Ratan also observed that even though womenfolk of the state are launching the relay hunger strike for such a long time, government is remaining in mute while suggesting the need for change of the course of the stir and consideration for commencement of untodeath fasting in order to reach the ear of the law enforcing groups.
Stressing the need of pressing the government from the grass root level, he said, people should conduct a campaign to each and every MLAs to convince them that if they do not press the government to repeal the Act, they will be boycotted by the people at the time of election.
A unanimous decision of the people should be adapted not to vote to them at the time of elections.In today�s relay hunger strike, around 100 members of the Imphal Bazar Board took part.Speaking at the site, convener of the Board, Amrik Singh Pawa said it is wonderful that such a draconian Act is imposing to its own people by the government of India.
He also asked why the government is enforcing in the state when it do not imposed in the terrorists infested places of the country like Mumbai.
Shiva Seva Sanga activist Murari Nath Sharma, the Act should be taken out even on trial basis from the state.
He also blamed Centre and State government for enforcing such a draconian law in the state.
