The Political Affairs Committee of Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (PAC-DAN) government has humbly appealed the State Congress leaders to reconsider their decision of not participating in the forthcoming Naga consultative meet scheduled for March 5 to 7 in the greater interest of the common Naga cause.
Chairman, PAC of DAN, Dr.T M Lotha in an appeal to the Congress leaders stated that all Naga leaders irrespective of political affiliations, tribal inclinations and other regional interests are expected to be united and discuss and reason together as to help the Naga people march forward at this critical juncture without being further ruined.
"Therefore, the participation by all the Naga leaders including the Congress leaders of Nagaland to this 'Naga Consultative Meet' at this hour of critical transitional period is extremely essential", he said.
Stating that the meeting was the outcome of the PAC�s meetings and interactions with various sections of Naga society, he said the meeting was called to deliberate and discuss the common cause on Naga political issue so as to evolve a "consensus opinion" on the complex matter.
He said all Naga leaders irrespective of political affiliations, tribal inclinations and other regional interests were expected to arrive at a wide consensus so as to help the Naga people march forward "at this critical juncture without being further ruined.
The meet is expected to be attended by representatives from all tribal hohos, civil societies, NGOs like NCF, NBCC, Naga Hoho, NSF, ENSF, ENPO, NMA, NPMHR, UNC, GB and DB's Naga Reconciliation Forum including representatives from various factions of Naga National workers, Naga overseas friends especially from the USA, England and Australia.
Meanwhile, CLP leader Chingwang Konyak has confirmed that the Congress party would not attend the meeting as the PAC had not invited the Opposition during the preliminary discussions held to chalk out the agenda for the meeting.
