Imphal, March 28, 2014:
Clarifying that there is no question of Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) merging with Indian National Congress, MSCP vice president Adim Pamei today declared that MSCP would support NPF in the ensuing Lok Sabha election.
Speaking at Manipur Press Club this afternoon, Adim Pamei dismissed media reports that MSCP has been merged with INC as baseless.
Out of the party's 15 central committee members, seven are against the idea of merging the party with INC.
At the same time, some elements have been trying to blame the party members on one pretext or another who would oppose the idea of merger.
Saying that MSCP is a member of the North Eastern Regional Parties' Forum, Adim Pamei asserted that MSCP decided to support NCP as NCP is a fellow member of NERPF.
Adim Pamei said that he is the proposer of NPF candidate Soso Lorho.
In the meantime, some party members who have been working sincerely have been served explanation calls, he decried.
