Maralui Karalimei Swijoikang (Maram Students' Union) shines on jubilee day

The golden jubilee celebration of Maralui Karalimei Swijoikang (Maram Students' Union), MKS, which would go on for two days has begun from today at the ground of Senapati district headquarters.
Established 50 years ago under the motto of 'Learn and Guide', the golden jubilee of MSK is being celebrated under the theme of 'Education and social transformation'.
Founder president of MKS B Hing and ex-president of MKS RK Peter attended the inaugural function of the golden jubilee celebration being hosted by Katalui organisation as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
As the dignitaries arrived, members of MKS dressed in traditional attire welcomed them along with shouting 'Hoi'.
Afterward, the chief guest unfurled the flag of MKS and the guest of honour unveiled the golden jubilee monolith to formally inaugurate the celebration.
Gas balloons with motto of MKS were also released to mark the occasion.
The inaugural function began along with benediction by executive secretary of Maram Naga Baptist Association.
It was followed by observance of two minute silence by the congregation in honour of all the departed former office bearers of MKS.
Delivering the welcoming address, MKS president Pungdi P Celestine highlighted in details the activities of MKS.
Later on, the chief guest release a souvenir and memento related to the golden jubilee of MKS.
The chief guest also launched a website of MKS, www.maramstudents.org.
Students of PP Christian English School presented songs and dances to enthral the crowd.
As part of the golden jubilee celebration, an interactive session with Dr Anthony as chairperson and Dr Joseph as moderator was held.
During the interaction, Prof Gangmumei Kamei spoke on the topic of 'Human resource is the key to development.
On the second and last day of the celebration tomorrow, there would be cultural extravaganza and Miss Golden Beauty pageant.
