Two different issues meet on NH-39 Highway blocked over Kunjabihari's murder, Lilong also blocks same stretch

Carrying on the protest agitation against the brutal murder of Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) Chairman, Dr N Kunjabihari, Imphal-Moreh section of NH-39 was blocked today too at Singjamei Naorem Leikai and surrounding areas.
The road blockade started in the morning under the stewardship of the JAC constituted against the brutal murder.
The same section of NH 39 was also blocked at Lilong though on another issue.
People of Lilong area blocked the highway alleging that police have not pulled up some guilty persons involved in a road mishap.
On the other hand, a large number of people came out and blocked both lanes of the highway between Kakwa and Thongju Boroi Makhong.
The JAC has already put forward a number of demands to the Chief Minister yesterday including a CBI enquiry.
Later in the afternoon, police succeeded in dispersing the crowd who were enforcing the blockade.
However, only one lane of the highway was blocked till evening under a mutual understanding between the police and the JAC members.
Liwa Road which runs parallel to NH 39 from Singjamei Chingamakha to Canchipur was also blocked today against the brutal murder of Kunjabihari.
A protest demonstration was also staged by local Meira Paibis at Liwa Lambi Pukhri Achouba Mapal.
The Meira Paibis while strongly condemning the murder of Oja Kunjabihari, demanded that the killers be booked at the earliest.
Questioning the faults of Kunjabihari, they asserted that Kunjabihari was an upright and humble teacher/officer.
BSEM Chairman Naorem Kunjabihari was shot dead inside his office chamber in the afternoon of January 11. On the other hand, post mortem examination of the corpse was conducted yesterday at RIMS in the presence of forensic science experts of Manipur Police.
However, the bereaved family have been refusing to claim the corpse till date.
The same section of NH 39 was blocked at Lilong too on another issue.

One Md Rajauddin Khan (34) of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai Asem Leirak was knocked down by a Maruti van near Meitei Lamkhai along Imphal-Moreh road at about 4.30 pm yesterday.
Even as Rajauddin was rushed to RIMS, he succumbed to the injuries.
People of Lilong area blocked NH 39 today alleging that police have been condoning the party who knocked down Rajauddin.
