Imphal, April 30:
Parents of two out of four PREPAK cadres, belonging to the Vice Chairman group, who surrendered before the Chief Minister along with arms and large quantity of ammunition have been gunned down today while mother of a third surrenderee was shot at the leg.
The two deceased parents have been identified as Khumukcham Sanajaoba of Kakching Khunour Hall Leikai and Thoudam Iboyaima of Gwaltabi Mayai Leikai.
Sanajaoba is the father of Kh Khagemba alias Johny (19), who surrendered along with 14 lethode bombs while Iboyaima's son Naoba alias Pradeep (21) laid down an AK-56 rifle with 150 rounds in yesterday's surrender ceremony.
According to source, Sanajaoba's body was shot dead yesterday night at Malom Mailing Leikai under Yairipok police station.
The corpse was recovered today.
Unofficial source informed of Iboyaima being killed at Nungba sub-division area.
Police source declined comment on the twin shooting incidents.
Press source also Conveyed of Arubam Khoi Khoi alias Jack's mother suffering bullet wound at the leg in Moirang area.
Khoi Khoi had surrendered an AK-47 rifle with 150 rounds.
Claiming the responsibility for killing Khumukcham Sanajaoba, father of Khagemba alias Johnny (19) of Kakching Khunou Hall Leikai and Thoudam Iboyaima, father of Naoba alias Pradeep (21) of Gwaltabi Mayai Leikai as well as injuring mother of Arubam Khoikhoi alias Jack (20) of Naoremthong Mayai Leikai, the military spokesman of Red Army, PREPAK termed the action as necessary to warn those who surrender arms and disclose party secrets.
The family members of all those renegades who decamped with arms and surrendered in the past should also refund cost of the arms procurement to the organisation within two months time, the spokesman warned, adding that safety cannot be guaranteed against defaulters.
Similar penalties would be given against any cadre found violating the party principle as already announced by the Standing Committee of the party, it said.
The spokesman further asserted that none of the Red Army were recruited under duress and reasoned that they have are liable to face dire consequences if they disobeyed the rules and worked against the interest of the party.
The party would never forgive any one who compromised ideals of the party and shift allegiance to adversary forces.
The spokesman also appealed to the people not to misinterpret the action carried out by the party in awarding capital punishment to parents of the surrenderees.
Meanwhile, Three persons were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in different parts of the State since yesterday.
In the first incident, unidentified gunmen shot dead a youth at Leirongthel, 5 kms north of Yairipok PS last night.
Sources said that the deceased youth may be one Md Farruk of Keirao Mangjing.
In the second incident, armed persons gunned down an elderly man at Malom Maning Leikai under Yairipok PS today.
The victim has been identified as one Khumukcham Sanajaoba of Kakching Khunou Hall Leikai.
In the third incident, unidentified gunmen again struck at Nungba killing a youth.
The deceased youth is suspected to be one Thoudam Iboyaima of Gwaltabi Mathak Leikai.
Mishap claims one: A forty year old man was killed in a scooter incident at Kheljang Village under Churachandpur Dist last night at around 10.The victim has been identified as Soni Haokip of Chalbung.
The victim's body was handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS.
