Imphal, November 27 2009:
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi is literally sleeping over his promise made one year back to provide a Government job to the next of kin of Maibam Bimolchandra, one of the victims of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.
Although the promise was made by the Chief Minister, nothing has come off it till date, said Maibam Nando, father of late Bimolchandra.
Bimolchandra of Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai was an assistant manager at Oberoi Trident Hotel.
Sandhyarani, younger sister of Bimolchandra is the only remaining sibling and her parents have been hoping for a Government job for her taking the assurance of the Chief Minister.
She is currently teaching Mathematics in a private school.
Nando said that he had submitted necessary documents to the Education Department to get a job for Sandhyarani as teacher in a Government school but there has been no response till date.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi personally visited and consoled the bereaved family when the bullet riddled body of Bimolchandra was brought home last year.
Nando decried that his family was also yet to receive any benefit from a central scheme for assistance to victim of terrorist and communal violence although the scheme was launched in Manipur in April last year.
