Governor, Chief Minister, various individuals and organisations greeted the people of the State, especially people from the Muslim community on the occasion of Id-Ul-Zuha.
In his message, Governor Gurbachan Jagat said that the festival reminds the supreme sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim for the sake of mankind.
"Let this sacrifice inspire us to dedicate ourselves to all cause of good and noble work for the betterment of humanity", the Governor said.
While extending warm wishes to the people on the occasion, Chief Minister O Ibobi said that the festival exhorts to work for peace, amity, brotherhood and harmony amongst all sections of the society.
In his message, MOBC Minister Md Alauddin Khan wished that the festival brings prosperity, peace, tranquillity and harmony in the State.
IGAR (S) Deputy GOC Brigadier Ajay Raina and all ranks of Assam Rilfes also extended greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion.
The Deputy GOC prayed to the almighty to keep a benign eye on the people of the State to bring peace, prosperity and tranquility in the days to come.
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, Bharatiya Janata Party, Minority Morcha (Manipur), Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council, Manipur University Muslim Students' Union, United Committee Manipur, United Clubs Organisation, United Meitei and Pangal Organisation and All India Muslim Majlis-E-Mushawarat Manipur also greeted the people of the State on the occasion.
