The results of the Higher Secondary Examination, 2007 conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur has been declared today with a dismal pass percentage of 56.66.Out of the total 14542 students enrolled, 14267 appeared in the examination and only 8084 passed the examination.
Pass percentage recorded are 53.83 in Science stream, 64.26 in Arts, 56.34 in Commerce and 74.76 in Vocational stream.
In Science stream, a total of 10265 candidates had enrolled out of which 10091 candidates appeared and 5432 managed to pass the examination.
Rajib Khundrakpam of Herbert School topped the examination in Science stream with a total mark score of 453 with letter marks in English, Alternative Subject, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Ngangbam Rajesh Singh of HRD Academy occupied the second position with a total aggregate of 436 marks with letter marks in English, Alternative Subject, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
The third position was secured Mayanglambam Chandrakumar Singh of Herbert School.
He scored a total of 434 with letter marks in English, Alternative Subject, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Out of the total of 3724 candidates enrolled for the examination in Arts stream, 3632 candidates appeared, and 2334 of them managed to clear it.
TG Higher Secondary swept the first top three positions in the Arts Stream.
Ritu Kumar Gupta emerged as the topper with a total mark score of 427 with letter marks in English, Alternative Subject, Geography, Home Science and Education, Singam Saroja Devi clinched the second position with a total mark score of 397 with letter marks in English and Alternative while Iang-deilhing Misao who scored a total mark of 393 with letter marks in English, Alternative, Home Science and Education had to content with the third position.
For the Commerce stream, 481 candidates appeared in the examination out of the total 487 enrolled for the same and only 271 of them managed to pass the examination.
Among them Jain Salina of Shree Digambar Jain Hr Sec School emerged the topper scoring 389 total mark with letter marks in English, Alternative and Accountancy.
The 2nd position has also been clinched by the School with its Nandita Jain scoring a total mark of 382 with letter marks in English, Business Studies and Economics.
The third position in Commerce has been clinched by Eloni Mao of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Maram.
Her total mark score is 380 and she got letter marks in English and Alternative.
In Vocational Stream, the pass percentage recorded is comparatively better than in other streams with an enviable 74.60 percent.
Out of the total 66 candidates enrolled for the examination, 63 of them have appeared and 47 cleared through the examination in Vocational stream.
With a total score of 383 mark with letter marks in English and Commerial Garment Designing and Making-IV, Bandana Sarungbam of TG Hr Sec School topped in the examination for Vocational stream.
Longjam Bonita Devi, also of TG Hr Sec School came in the 2nd position with a total mark of 381 and letter marks in Commercial Garment Designing and Marketing IV and V.The third position is secured by Laishram Seityam Singh of Ananda Sigh Higher Secondary Academy.
He scored a total of 370 marks and got letter mark in Maintenance and Repair of Electrical Domestic Appliances.
