Contrary to a statement of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), manipur pradesh calling for affiliation, the INTUC, Manipur Branch has sought clarification from Congress Bhavan on alleged pursuit to constitute an interim committee of the said Union.
General secretary of INTUC Manipur Branch Y Ranapratap Singh said, in a statement that on May 3 delegates of affiliated employees' union had attended the May Day cum foundation day celebrations and general session of the INTUC unit with MLA N Biren, Y Ranapratap and RK Ashok kumar being respectively nominated as its president, general secretary and treasurer along with constitution of a 41-member working committee.
Questioning validity and ground for which the Congress Bhavan had floated the parallel body (if any), the INTUC demanded clarification on the issue while cautioning employees' body to stay away from the former.
On the otherhand, INTUC, Manipur Pradesh having its office in the Congress Bhavan informed that a general body meeting was held on May 12 under the chairmanship of its president M Hemanta (MLA).
MP and national president of INTUC Dr G Sanjeeva Reddy is informed to have appointed M Hemanta to the said post.
Among others, the general body resolved on conveying to Govt and non-Govt entities registered under relevant Trade Union Act to affiliate to INTUC, Manipur within May 30.Election of new office bearers will be held on June 6, added the Bhavan release.
