Relief materials were distributed today to displaced Kuki villagers currently staying in the relief camp at Moreh Super Market complex, reports our Moreh correspondent.
The relief materials provided by Communal Victims Relief and Resettlement Association, Manipur were handed over by the Association's president Ayang Khongsai to Chandel AC legislator Thangkhulun Haokip in a simple function held at the office of Hill Tribal Council, Moreh.
While citing fund crunch of the Association for its inability to extend maximum assistance, Ayang urged HTC leaders to distribute the relief materials to the most needy.
Representatives of various Moreh-based voluntary and women organisations were also present on the occasion.
The relief materials included two quintal of rice, one bag of potato and a bag of dal (cereal).
On the otherhand, Organisation for Salvation of Man (Osom) is informed to have extended nutritional support to HIV-infected children of the border town.
nutritional items like cornflakes, bananas and milk were handed over to the children at the OSOM office.
