A controversy surfaced on the missing of a college going girl.
Her family pointed out her boy friend as suspect even though police could not get any clues from the boy friend in question.
Twenty-year Tourangbam Galina daughter of Madan of Sagolband Moirang Hanuba Leirak, studying BA 3rd year at Imphal College, has been missing since September 28 when she failed to return home after college.
Mother of Galina, Rita said that on September 28, her daughter was dropped at the college in the school van, she (Rita) used to travel upto Little Flower School where she works as a teacher.
But Galina failed to return home after college hours.
When she failed to return home, Rita along with some neighbours went to the house of Thokchom Papak son of Th Gojendro at Sangaiporou Mamang Leikai to ask if Galina had eloped with the boy.
But family members of the boy informed that he was not at home.
But a girl in the neighbourhood studying in the same college with missing Galina informed that she had seen Galina with Papak at the college gate at about 1 pm that day.
When they returned to the house of the boy, a heated argument erupted with the mother of Papak.
Later, the boy himself came out from the house and informed that he had severed his relationship with Galina after a quarrel around a month back.
On the next day, family of Galina lodged a missing report with the Lamphel police station.
After registering a case, police called up Papak and interrogated in a bid to find out any clue.
But with no clues emerging the boy was released.
