Imphal, April 04 2009:
Two election observers, Rohit Kumar Singh and K R Dutta have arrived at Imphal today to look after the election arrangements and electioneering of the candidates and political parties in the Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency.
Observer, Rohit Kumar Singh will based at Imphal west district headquarter and will inspect election related matters in the Assembly constituencies of the district like Keishampat, Sagolband, Uripok, Nambol and Bishnupur, Moirang Thanga and Kumbi A/Cs lying within the Bishnupur district.
The other poll observer KR Dutta will be based at Imphal east district and will look after the arrangements at the Assembly constituencies within the district.
Mention may be made here that the Election Commission of India had decided to send seven observers to look into the matter related election arrangements in the state against the state election authority's proposal of sending 11 observers.
Four elections observers for looking after the arrangements for the outer constituency of the Lok Sabha have already arrived and taken stocks of the election arrangements and electioneering of the political parties and candidates.
The remaining one observer, RK Jain for the inner constituency is yet to arrive and take post to the duty assigned on him.
Official source said, he will arrive in the state at the earliest.
