Employees of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has threatened to cease work if the authority of the institute failed to clear salaries of employees by 5th of every month.
However, the decision of discontinue attending emergency and OPD services from tomorrow (October 17) which was resolved in a joint meeting held today at the seminar hall of the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation at 1.30 pm withdrawn, a joint statement of four association of different section of the employees expressed.
The joint meeting of the four associations in the RIMS also formed a body called RIMS Employees Coordinating Committee stated a statement signed by secretaries of TAMOA Dr Ak Joy, Association of Junior Doctors, Dr Th Chito, Non-Teaching Employees Welfare Association Koijam Bijendra and RIMS Nurses Association H Tampha.
The meeting generally discussed mode of management of financial matter in the institute which many expressed willingness to the regularization of the financial matter though not a concrete decision to interfere into the matter was taken, sources said.
Official statement, however said that the joint meeting unanimously decided to informed the administrators of the institute to clear out salary for all section of staff be 5th of every month.
If the authorities do not comply with the demand, the staff will cease to function from the next working day without any notification to the authority.
