Imphal, October 16 2009:
The JACs against the killings of Ch Sanjit and Rabina have wished that with the replacement of the Chief Minister, as a gift to the people of the state on Ningol Chakouba festival, the coming festivals of Diwali and Ningol Chakouba be a harbinger of peace, tranquility and corruption-free in the state.
A joint statement issued by the JACs urged the people to continue the struggle towards the achievement of the people's demand while also extending greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Diwali and Ningol Chakouba.
The JACs urged the people to restrain themselves from going on celebration spree by staging shows, gaming and other entertainment activities.
It appealed the people to dedicate the Diwali festival lights in order that the souls of Sanjit and Rabina rest in peace.
Further, the JACs' statement insisted on the people to relish the Diwali festival by burning the effigies of CM, his wife, DGP, PM, HM, and AICC chief.
"Let the resignation of the CM be taken be the 'customary gift' (Dakshina) of Rabina in the coming Ningol Chakouba festival," the JACs wished.
