The One-Man Inquiry Commission instituted under the chair of Justice PG Agarwal (Retd.) is yet to receive reports called by the Commission.
The Commission had given a public notice calling for submission of reports relating to July 23 incident of Khwairamband market by October 26 .
A source from the Commission today said that the Commission is yet to receive the reports called from the police and other authority concerned apart from asking the police to produce those persons related with the case.
After recording the statement of the injured persons, the Commission took up an application from the police department through its counsel Advocate N Surendrajit seeking 15 days' time to submit affidavit to the Commission.
The Commission agreed to the request and agreed to give the time to police.
The Commission after examining into the report of the Imphal east police which stated that family of the victim of the July 23 incident, Chungkham Sanjit declined to receive the notice, the commission decided to issue necessary order in the matter.
As per the order of the commission passed on September 21 last, notices were sent through SPs of Imphal east and west district.
However, no reports have been received.
The Commission asked both the SPs to submit their explanations for their failure to submit their reports.
The Commission asked the police to issue summons to them to appear in person on the next date of hearing.
Imphal West District Magistrate also to ask to furnish the report of the magisterial enquiry report into the death of Ch Sanjit and Th Rabina conducted under the Criminal Procedure Code.
The Commission which the hearing was conducted after Justice (retired) PG Agarwal arrived at Imphal today also decided to ask government to appoint a counsel to assist the Commission.
The above said reports should be received on or before October 21, the order of the Commission passed stated.
The Commission has received the post mortem and medico-legal reports of the injured persons.
The next seating of the Commission have been scheduled on October 27 at 10.30 am.
On the other hand, sources said that family of the deceased Ch Sanjit has been refusing to receive the notice issued by the Commission.
Mention may be made that the JAC formed in connection with the killing of JAC had recently lodged a complaint with the Manipur Human Rights Commission to register a case and investigate into the killing stating that the JAC has no faith with the judicial inquiry into the July 23 incident.
