Inspite of electricity department employees joining the JAC-led ceasework strike from today, the Department's division I Executive engineer has attributed efforts of the employees for the record collection of revenue during the 2009-10 fiscal.
In an office memorandum circulated by the EE T Ibochouba Singh today, the employees have been credited for the Department's revenue collection of Rs 16,62,00,000 against the targeted amount of Rs 10,07,00,000 .
Putting the revenue collection percentage at 164, the EE acknowledged relentless effort and collective endeavour of the Department employees for the outstanding achievement.
he also conveyed thanks to the police authorities, club volunteers and the local media for their contribution in the revenue collection campaign.
Stating that percentage achieved by the Division with regard to billing is not upto the mark, the EE's circular also advised Assistant Engineer, Central Sub-Division No.I/II for more effort to attain the 100 percent billing, 100 percent metering, disconnection of unauthorised connection and door-to-door revenue collection so as to propel the Division as a model unit of the Department.
In another notification, the EE said energy meters in Thangal and Paona Bazar areas would be installed at the basement portion of the buildings irrespective of the building occupants belonging to different families/individuals.
The building owners have therefore been asked to provide space easily accessible to all.
The energy meters being planned is in connection with the underground cabling of power lines, the EE added.
