In the list of the government employees prepared under scheme Manipur Government Employees List (MGEL) for fixing the exact number of government employees and actual expenditure incurred in the payment of salaries, there detected wrongs in putting the salary structure of the employees, a highly reliable source said.
An official who know in detail on MGEL preparation process disclosed that the reasons behind the mistakes as due to the wrong information provided by the authorities of each department handling the responsibilities of preparation of the list of their respective departments.
As per the rule framed under the scheme, each department under the state government should furnish the lists of its employees to the pay implementation cell of the state finance department.
After examining the list by the cell, the same is to be sent to the Accountant General for further submission to the NIC for compiling and uploading.
Due to the non-following of the process, salary structures of the employees.
He further observed that the effect of the wrong insertion of the salary structures will give impact to the state budget.
As a result of it, there would come up a stage which MGEL scheme may become a meaningless one.
There is the need of checking the same in time, the official maintained.
