Imphal, June 07 2009:
A temple of the Govindaji at Kaina in Imphal east was today inaugurated by the state Chief Minister, O Ibobi.
The temple was constructed state Arts and Culture Department in collaboration with Pangambam clan at a cost of Rs 30 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister, O Ibobi said that in a state like Manipur where different communities are residing together one should not look down the other.
He also assured of all kinds of assistant from the government side in developing Kaina as worshipping place.
On the occasion, chief minister also released the second edition of the book "Kaina-gi Asengba Heibong Pambi" written by commissioner of the state Arts and Culture Department, P Bhorot.
Before this, P Bhorot delivered the key note address of the function, P Bhorot elaborately talked on the installation of idol of Govindaji made of Theibong tree at Kaina.
The inaugural function was also attended by RK Jhalajit, Padmashree as guest of honour which was presided by Peeba of the Panganbam clan P Kullachandra.
MLA Y Surchandra and Mangha Vaiphei also took part in the function.
