Imphal, March 17 2010:
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has alleged mass copying by students in some of the examination centres of class X being conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Manipur today.
The examination today was Mathematic subject.
Talking to mediapersons in this connection at its head office here today, education and academic affairs secretary of DESAM P Premchandra informed that 21 inspection teams of DESAM have conducted tour of the examination centres today.
During the course of the inspection, use of unfair means by the students were detected at some of the examination centres such as Ching-Tam HS at Yaingangpokpi; Naorem Bihari College at Khundrakpam; Kumari HS at Hiyangthang; O Gokulchandra Hr Secy School at Lamshang and SK Ideal High School at Ngairangbam, Premchandra said.
However, inspite of pointing out the matter, the OCs and AOCs concerned did not pay attention but rather acted differently.
This shows that the teachers are encouraging the students to use unfair means in the examination, he lamented.
Taking serious note of the matter, Premchandra disclosed DESAM would henceforth be prepared to take up necessary action of its own against the OC, AOC and the invigilators if use of unfair means by the students is detected during the inspection of the examination centres in the days to come.
