Imphal, March 17 2010:
Taking serious note over similarity of the questions for upto 50 percent marks between the Mathematic subject of the ongoing class XII examination held on March 15 and this year's preparatory test of the Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has demanded action against the officials responsible for setting the question.
Addressing a press conference in this connection at the head office of the student body here today, its president Md Atafmuddin pointed out that 50 percent of the marks asked in the Mathematic subject of the class XII examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur on March 15 was similar to that of the questions in this year's preparatory test of the Johnstone Higher Secondary School.
In the Mathematic subject of the class XII conducted by the Council on March 15, three questions carried 6 mark each, four questions carrying 4 mark each, four questions carrying 3 mark each and four questions carrying one mark each were similar to that of the questions in the preparatory test of Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Atafmuddin contended.
Similarly of the questions for upto 50 percent marks in the class XII examination of the Council and that of a school indicate lack of integrity among the question setters and moderators.
So, the Government should initiate necessary action not only against the question setters but also against the higher officials of the Council, Atafmuddin demanded.
Similar incident had also taken place in the past at Ibotonsana Higher Secondary School, he recalled.
