Imphal, May 10 2009:
A DRUG peddler who used to supply contraband drugs to Laithangbam Sanathoi, a drug user and pusher who was allegedly working in connivance with police commandos in the incident of abduction of Megha, was caught today.
Assistant general secretary of AMADA, Ph Abe Chanu stated in a press release that Md Islamuddin (29), son of Md Nijam of Lilong Yangbi Leikai has been handed over to the AMADA Mayai Loishang after he was apprehended by locals while he came to hand over a box of SP capsules (144 pieces) to Sanathoi.
On being interrogated, Md Islamuddin revealed that he got the SP capsules from a person known as Md Wahidur Rahman (32) of Lilong Tairenmakhong, the AMADA release stated adding that identities of more persons, who use and traffick drugs were disclosed by Islamuddin.
It stated that the two alleged persons colluding with the police personnel in the kidnap of Megha�Sanathoi and S Shantikumar � were marked men in AMADA's record.
Sanathoi will be handed over to his family members after he is given lecturer according to AMADA's rules.
Meanwhile, asserting that the manner in which the state forces kill people has been exposed in the case of Megha, the AMADA statement pointed out that this is the same method which the state forces apply on killing innocent persons.
Taking swipe on the conduct of the state force, who never care for the lives of the people with guns in their hands and heightening their moral with intoxicating drugs and liquor, the AMADA statement mooted to impart awareness to those personnel immediately.
It further expressed apprehension that the dead body of a person may be butchered and sold in the market like red meat after robbing of the personal belongings of the person if not the police personnel who use drugs are brought down to their sense.
It cautioned that the wicked action of the few personnel may bring infamy to the entire state forces.
