Organised by PHC Somdal and supervised by Ukhrul block BPMUs under NRHM project, the second batch of 5th module ASHA training was held at PHC Somdal from May 5 to 8 .
As a part of its ongoing programme to train the ASHA activists, the remaining batches of the 5th module will resume on May 12, according to a release issued by Asst finance consultant of Ukhrul block S Songachan.
MO i/c Chingai PHC Dr Manik, BPM Chingai R Ringyuichon and BPM Ukhrul S Wontharla were the resource persons of the programme which was attended by 32 ASHA members at PHC Somdal.
The resource persons deliberated on different topics such as, knowing myself, values of ASHA, understanding of human rights and fundamental rights, ASHA as a health activist, leadership, communication skill, coordination skill, negotiation skill, right to health, community mobilisation etc.
As a part of recreation, games like trust walk, blind fold, hand cross, coin throw etc were played during the event, conveyed the Asst finance consultant.
Meanwhile, referring to the claim made by Ukhrul CMO, Dr Jim King Jajo stating that he had no knowledge about the news captioned "ASHA training," Songachan maintained that he had personally talked to the CMO about the matter.
Furnishing the document on proceeding of meeting held on April 9 2009, at Conference hall, District Hospital Ukhrul undersigned by the CMO Jim King Jajo, which contains the schedule of 5th module ASHA training to be held from April 27 till May 15, Songachan informed to all the ASHA members that there will not be any change in the schedule of the upcoming ASHA training programme but will remain as it has been earlier informed.
