Imphal, April 12 2010:
Stating that revolutionary organisations are only the vanguards of the liberation movement, the outlawed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has reaffirmed the crucial importance of public support in taking the movement forward.
Greeting fellow comrades in arms as well as the people of Manipur, the outfit, in a press release issued by Tabungba Meetei of its information and public relations department, claimed the revolutionary movement is striding forward.
It also paid homage to all the revolutionary cadres who laid down their lives in the course of the 'freedom movement' .
Questioning how long New Delhi can mislead the international community and keep Manipur suppressed, the outfit asserted that the right to self determination of the Manipuri nation conforms to international laws.
Even as the Government of India has been making a continuous propaganda that Manipur is a part of democratic India and that the State is ruled by elected representatives, the harsh reality is that the people of Manipur are reeling under an oppressive regime, it alleged.
Even though, New Delhi is a signatory of many UN treaties and charters which uphold right to self-determination of colonised States, it is openly defying all those treaties and agreements by keeping Manipur under its rule.
The people of Manipur, that is, all the 36 ethnic groups belong to the same oppressed class.
It was on this line that they launched movements to liberate themselves.
However, the Government of India has been scheming to divide the people on ethnic lines, it alleged.
Continuation of the subjugation of Manipuri Nation by India is a crime.
This implies that any movement aimed at liberating a colonised Nation is acceptable to international laws, it noted.
But the Government of India has been deploying maximum military force in Manipur and violating legitimate rights of the people.
Under the alien rule, local resources are being exploited for the benefit of the people of mainland India while Manipur has been converted into a captive market.
A sinister policy of usurping agricultural lands in the name of modernisation or development projects is being followed in Manipur.
For instance, Loktak Project submerged 83,450 paris of paddy fields which means loss of income of around Rs 300 crores annually.
Another point of gravest concern was the destruction of all indigenous political and economic institutions.
Until a revolution is achieved and the existing political economy overthrown, the future generations are staring at a life of servitude, the outfit cautioned.
For New Delhi, extermination of the Manipuri nation is their foremost and bounden duty.
Under such hostile conditions, the people of Manipur to stand united to defeat such design of the alien rule, the outfit asserted.
The historical blunder of the alleged annexation of Manipur by India can be redressed only when Manipur regains its sovereignty.
Notwithstanding the countless military force deployed in Manipur in their bid to subdue the liberation movement, the people of Manipur have not been cowed down a bit, it said.
The outfit also reminded about the shameful defeat of the USA in the hands of Vietnamese freedom fighters.
The forced conversion of the indigenous people into Hindus during the reign of king Pamheiba, the British occupation of Manipur in 1891 and the Merger Agreement forced to sign under duress at Shillong in 1949 produced a cumulating effect on the present generation of Manipuri nation against the present regime.
Stating that peace, development and an egalitarian society can be realised only after Manipur is liberated from the yoke of New Delhi, the KCP remarked that one historic episode of the ongoing liberation movement was that of April 13, 1982 when valiant PLA cadres battled unto last against a much larger force of security personnel.
Noting that it was those PLA cadres who lit up a raging flame of revolution, the outfit paid obeisance to the departed cadres on the arrival of April 13 "Martyrs' Day".
Reiterating the paramount importance of people's support in any revolutionary movement, the outfit asserted that any movement well supported by the people cannot end in defeat, however high the odds are and how strong the adversary forces are.
It further appealed to the people to study and inform the follies and misdeeds committed by revolutionary groups without any fear or reservation in order to take the movement forward.
In the meantime, the outfit accused Pradhan Pakpi Devi of Tera Khongshangbi and the BDO of Moirang Block of forfeiting wages of NREGS workers.
