The Secular Progressive Front (SPF) Legislature Party members have resolved to make a concerted effort to make all the schools, colleges and Manipur University resume normal classes from November 9 (Monday) onwards.
This was unanimously decided at a meeting of the SPF Legislature Party held today at the office chamber of the Chief Minister in connection with the ongoing class boycott stir launched by three students organisations in the backdrop of the Khwairamband incident of July 23 .
According to a press release issued by Spokesperson of the SPF Government, N Biren, who is also Minister of IFCD and YAS, the meeting lauded the efforts of the bodies agitating against the unfortunate incident of Khwairamband bazar of July 23 for coming forward to talk with the government to bring about an amicable solution to the ongoing impasse.
Discussing minutely the problems being faced by thousands of students, of whose right to education has been deprived for a long time now, the SPF Legislature Party meeting decided to ensure resumption of normal classes from November 9.The government will continue the talks with the agitating parties though.
The meeting further decided to take up appropriate precautionary measures to ensure that the resumption of normal classes is not disturbed.
The meeting also decided to provide security in order to ensure the non-disturbance of classes and to prevent any trouble.
The press release appealed to the agitating bodies not to cause any disturbance, and to cooperate with the govt in bringing an amicable solution to the deadlock.
The press release appealed to all members of the SPF, all political parties of the state and all sections of the society to extend cooperation.
It also appealed to all parents and guardians of students to start sending their wards to schools and colleges.
