Imphal, Jul 29:
Brahmakumar Surchandra of Eastern Zone, Kolkata has stated that the word 'mother' is the essence of all the good things in the world.
Giving his observations during a programme held under the theme of 'Role of women for a value-based society' as guest of honour today, Surchandra said mothers have a great role to play in restoring peace and normalcy in Manipur.
If the mothers inculcate and instill the right kind of values to the children right from young age, then the future of the society would be very bright, he added.
Observing that every mother should possess three qualities, namely ability, understanding and management, Surchandra said in order to have these three qualities, 12 values should be cultivated.
These are respect, tolerance, humility, co-operation, love, honesty, unity, responsibility, freedom, simplicity, happiness and peace.
Kanglamei president Leirik Leima, who also spoke at the occasion, noted that there are many mothers who do not pay any serious thought on bringing up their children.
This does not auger well for the society.
The programme was organised under the aegis of Prajapati Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Imphal Centre at its Kwakeithel office.
