Imphal, June 15: Describing the monsoon and summer seasons as onset of life threatening diseases the MSF fervently appealed to employees and officials of Public Health Engineering and Medical Departments to take up appropriate measures to prevent outbreak of epidemic particularly at remote valley and hill area villages.

Highlighting necessity of PHED personnel to ensure hygienic drinking water facilities the MSF desired that Dept officials ensure sufficient supply of bleaching power, lime etc to clean drinking water as remote villagers are highly susceptible to water-borne diseases.

Medical Department officials also need to instruct to their employees for regular presence at their respective area of postings as their service should be readily accessible to the needy.

The student body also mooted that individuals engaged in sales business should not disturb doctors and other medical personnel to buy their products during duty working hours as attention to needy patients would be neglected.
