Guwahati, June 15:
Tarun Gogoi is all set to downsize his ministry by June 18 and the normal functioning of the state government will restart by July 6, said chief minister Tarun Gogoi, while inaugurating the official web site of the Assam Pradesh Congress recently.
He also promised to create a new department for the development of tea tribals.
It is to be noted the state congress has realize in the last election that the tea tribe votes has marginally gone in favor of other political party.
Therefore he said, one is a constitutional necessity and another is political necessity.
The July 8 is the deadline of downsizing ministry, while the All Assam Tea Tribes Student Association (AATTSA) forced the government to open a new department.
The congress is under tremendous pressure after they lost their long standing bastion to BJP and AGP in the last general election.
Even some of the senior ministers like Devananda Konwar, Ardhendu Kumar Dey have literally stopped attending office.
