Imphal, June 15: Imphal East District Police have taken up the case of an alleged molestation of a 9-year old girl after her mother filed a report in connection with the incident.

The girl child who was found abandoned last night at Mahabali forest area had been discharged from RIMS Hospital after medication this afternoon.

Forensic medical check-up is believed to have been conducted on the victim, though police are yet to get a copy of the report.

According to the complaint petition filed by the mother Th Sorojini of Sing-jamei Chingamakha Liwa Lambi to the police, her daughter was picked by one Laishram Bobby of Keirao - a rickshaw puller - staying in a rented room in the same locality on that fateful day and alleged the culprit has been absconding ever since.

Acting on this information, the police had gone to arrest Bobby, but it turned out that he was a fraud.

His real name is said to be Pukhrambam Mombi (28) s/o Samu of Keirao Lairembi Mayai Leikai.

He married and father of one kid, but has been divorced from his wife.
