Even though there is no immediate requirement of services of part time lecturers they would not be retrenched at the present juncture, said the chief Minister O Ibobi singh while contending that Govt had urged for some more time to address the part timers' problems.
making the statement at today's assembly session he said to accommodate growing number of students 22 high schools were upgraded to the status of higher secondaries numerous and part time lecturers enrolled with Rs 1000 remuneration to meet the demands as there were 21 Govt higher secondary level schools in the State before the upgradation was effected.
Maintaining that remuneration of the newly enrolled part timers were increased from Rs 1000 to 2000, Ibobi also said since the formation of SPF Govt salaries of higher secondary part time lecturers were hiked to Rs 4000 and those of colleges to Rs 4500.Saying that demand for minimum basic pay to the part timers at par with regular lecturers could not be complied to due to fund crunch faced by the State Govt, he also asserted that State Govt has never ruled out possibility of conceding to the demand when favourable situation prevails.
Referring to the Governor's address Ibobi endorsed that currently there is no use for services of the part time lecturers.
