Aizawl, June 15:
The Mizoram Government Nursing Service Association has decided to hold a meeting on Wednesday to deliberate the course of action they will take as their pleas and ultimatum to have their recruitment rules amended has not been taken seriously by the government.
According to MGNSA sources, the association had asked the government to review their recruitment rules as far back as 1997 without any favorable action till today.
The latest pleas to the government came as a result of the association's meetings in May and early part of this month and they had entreated the health minister, health commissioner, joint secretary and under-secretary to no avail, prompting them to finally submit an ultimatum to the chief minister last week.
Since this too had evoked no response, the nurses are now ready to come out with a plan of action for an agitation.
The government nurses are most unhappy with the tampering of their recruitment rules by which some preferred persons would reap the benefits of promotions etc.
