Two killed in mishaps

Imphal, September 13: Two persons died in separate motor mishaps which occurred at Kanglatongbi and Ushoipokpi (Thoubal) area today.

While an elderly person was killed after being rammed by a speeding truck at Kanglatongbi Shantipur area at around 7.30 am identity of the Ushoipokpi victim following a mini bus-maruti car head on collision could not be established till late evening.

Three other persons are also informed to be injured in the collision which took place at around 7 pm.

The Shantipur mishap victim has been identified as AP Kalengbou (83) s/o (L) Shangbouna of Makhan village in Senapati district.

On completion of post mortem at RIMS Morgue the body has been handed over to family members.

Woman attacked: Unidentified persons reportedly attack a woman with knife wounding her critically while the victim was sleeping at her Lamphel quarters this afternoon.

The woman identified as Saikhom Indrani alias Inaobi (30) d/o Samungou has been hospitalised at the casualty ward of RIMS.

She suffered at least five stabbing wounds on her face and head.

According to report, the incident took place at around 3 pm while Indrani was sleeping in her room at Lamphel Quarter No.
