Imphal, April 26: Based on an expose story carried by this newspaper on misuse of over Rs 5 crores meant for construction of kitchen rooms in all the Primary schools under State Education Dept for providing cooked meals to the students under Mid-Day Meal scheme, the State Govt has instituted an inquiry to look into the matter so that fitting action may be taken up against those responsible for fund diversion.

Accordingly, the Chief Secretary as sought detailed reports from all the DCs concerned on the number of kitchens which have been constructed so far from out of the 2897 primary schools.
